My Professional Journey - D. Lawton - Owner
With years of experience as a case manager, I’ve worked across healthcare, social services, and community organizations. I’ve supported diverse populations, individuals with chronic illnesses, families in crisis, and those navigating disability services. My work has spanned hospitals, clinics, insurance providers, and nonprofit agencies, giving me a comprehensive understanding of the barriers people face at every step.
Personal Experience
My own life has been shaped by witnessing and enduring injustices and prejudice within the healthcare and social service systems. I have seen firsthand how bias, lack of transparency, and unethical conduct by providers can harm individuals and families. I’ve personally navigated the maze of paperwork, denials, and fragmented care—often feeling powerless in the face of systemic obstacles.
The Reality
Access to essential services is often blocked by red tape, confusing processes, and a lack of advocacy. Budget cuts and reduced funding have led to a decline in the quality of care, leaving the most vulnerable at risk. Too many people are falling through the cracks, their voices unheard and their needs unmet.
Why Change Is Urgent
Healthcare outcomes in our communities are declining. The health of our population is at risk, not just because of disease, but because the systems meant to help are failing. Immediate intervention is needed. We must demand higher standards, greater accountability, and compassionate advocacy for every individual.
Purpose
Authentically Aligned Living was created to be the advocate I wish I’d had—for myself, for my clients, and for anyone struggling to access the care and support they deserve. We exist to break down barriers, challenge injustice, and ensure that every person can live a quality, thriving life without obstacles.
